Review of single voxel proton (1H) magnetic resonance spectroscopy

Abstract

Review of single voxel proton (1H) magnetic resonance spectroscopy. / A. Gogishvili. / Nano Studies. – 2020. – # 20. – pp. 25-30. – geo. Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1H-MRS) allows the measurement of in vivo concentrations of nearly 20 metabolites non-invasively. 1H-MRS benefits especially from ultra-high field strength (7 T and above) due to the gain in the signal-to-noise ratio. These advantages can be used to increase the spatial and temporal resolutions and for a more robust, precise and accurate quantification of metabolites concentrations. MRS can only benefit from ultra-high fields if a good main field B0 shimming is achieved. The purpose of this article is to review the procedure how to conduct single voxel proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy and its results. Fig. 5, Ref. 6.
